Certification Received After Comprehensive Testing of
ZyIMAGE by U.S. Department of Defense Officials; ZyIMAGE is One
of Only Three Fully Web-Based Solutions DoD 5015.2 Compliant
Bagshot, May 10, 2004 - ZyLAB, an established
market leader of document imaging and full-text retrieval software,
today announced that ZyIMAGE has achieved the Department of Defense
(DoD) 5015.2 STD records management certification. The DoD 5015.2
STD is a stringent standard used by the DoD and other government
agencies that sets criteria for selecting and implementing records
management applications as well as how records must be created,
stored, retained, accessed and disposed of.
The certification comes after two weeks of rigorous software testing
by officials from the DoD Joint Interoperability Test Command.
During the last two years, ZyLAB has had a dedicated team of engineers
focus exclusively on building out a solution to adhere to meeting
DoD 5015.2 STD requirements. Upon receiving the certification,
the DoD officials noted that the ZyIMAGE .NET Web-based solution
was robust, easy to use and fast. ZyIMAGE is one of only three
fully Web-based solutions that are DoD 5015.2 compliant.
According to a Gartner industry research report, "This standard
has effectively become the definition of records management functionality
in the United States. Government agencies and private sector enterprises
should give primary consideration to records management software
that has earned DoD 5015.2 STD certification."
In addition to being 5015.2 STD compliant, ZyIMAGE offers government
organizations many powerful features including a full XML framework
for storage and integration; scaleable and secure product and
data architecture; advanced full-text retrieval including scalable
fuzzy search, relevance ranking, advanced hit highlighting and
hit navigation in imaging; support for over 200 languages; and
support for over 270 electronic file formats, including e-mail
and attachments.
"We demonstrated to the government compliance team that ZyIMAGE
not only meets current DoD 5015.2 STD requirements but offers
functionality that exceeds the requirements of the standard,"
said Dr. Johannes Scholtes, CEO, ZyLAB. "DoD 5015.2 STD is the
de facto standard for electronic records management systems throughout
North America and around the world. We are pleased to receive
this certification, as it validates the strength ZyIMAGE offers
to organizations in need of an affordable records management solution.
This recognition will complement ZyLAB's recent government successes."
