GERMAN CUSTOMS-INVESTIGATION OFFICIALS USE ZYLAB SOFTWARE TO HANDLE INFORMATION PROCESSING IN THEIR CRIME-PREVENTION ACIVITIES

ZyIMAGE considered the key tool for investigating 1.5 million pages of confiscated paper evidence

Bagshot, October 31, 2003 - The main organization (ZKA) that supports the German Customs Authority's anti-criminal activities has selected ZyIMAGE to digitally format, archive, and index large volumes of confiscated data. ZyIMAGE is ZyLAB's signature document archiving and full-text retrieval software.

Currently, one ongoing investigation requires ZKA officials to evaluate more than 1.5 million pages of confiscated paper documents, along with several terabytes of electronic data. Conventional investigation techniques were unable to provide the resources necessary to effective process all of this information, so the ZKA officials turned to ZyLAB's reliable, robust and easy-to-use solution.

ZKA officials use ZyIMAGE to perform all of their own scanning, indexing and information retrieval and evaluation tasks. This process has been enhanced through thorough training and continued support from ZyLAB's professional staff. According to one ZKA official, "Without ZyLAB we would never have been able to search this huge amount of data within the framework set by the courts. We are saving months and months of investigative work and, needless to say, a lot of money."

ZyLAB: A leading supplier of software for investigative and intelligence agencies
ZKA provides yet another example of why ZYLAB is becoming one of the most requested solutions for information management (in terms of both software and knowledgeable support), especially for large criminal investigations. In particular, investigative professionals rely on ZyIMAGE's unparalleled search functionality in more than 200 languages as well as the ease with which the package enables them to organize all information and make it available online.

ZyLAB counts other German security organizations such the Federal Intelligence Agency (BND) and the Badem Württemberg police force among its clients. On a larger scale, ZyLAB's current worldwide user network includes such large agencies as the CIA, New Scotland Yard, Interpol, and NATO.
