Current processing to exceed 50,000 pages of
information plus over 45 GB of electronic information
ZyLAB, a leading provider of advanced document management
and full-text retrieval software, announces that it has been selected
to assist Amtrak's Office of the Inspector General in the processing
of its extensive auditing and case files.
The Amtrak Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is the congressionally
appointed federal oversight commission that investigates any allegations
of fraud, waste, and abuse at Amtrak, as well as monitoring and
providing input about their business practices. Because the work
done by Amtrak's OIG is so comprehensive and interrelated-not to
mention highly scrutinized due to being a federally funded entity-it
required a precise, intuitive, and reliable record management and
information storage and retrieval solution. Due to budgetary constraints,
the information storage and retrieval solution purchased by Amtrak's
OIG must be flexible, scaleable and compatible with whatever infrastructure
is currently in place.
The ZyIMAGE Webserver was selected by Amtrak's OIG as its preferred
tool suite. Based on several current investigations, Amtrak's OIG
will be storing over 50,000 pages of paper documents, over 40GB
of electronic documents and approximately 5GB of email (.pst) files.
Any information or combination of information, in any format, can
be searched for and retrieved quickly. Furthermore, ZyIMAGE enables
the Amtrak OIG to organize and download all case information onto
a CD that can be created and distributed in nearly no time to all
interested parties, regardless of their location.
ZyIMAGE's award winning and powerful search engine allows these
immense data collections to be searched by using unique keywords
or combinations of words, similar to an Internet search engine.
In addition, the data of Amtrak's OIG can now be annotated, indexed
or marked for later use.
