XML Storage

XML storage - the most open and secure framework for managing data

The central element of the ZyLAB IM Platform product suite is the large XML data repository that stores all unstructured data. Integrated functionalities enable users to capture and add new data, analyze and collaborate, and retrieve and share information. Because an XML foundation drives ZyLAB’s modular structure, the software is completely scalable, which means it is a perfect solution for both small and medium sized businesses as well as large-scale production environments.

The architecture and search functionality of ZyLAB’s software is designed to provide fast and seamless document conversion and migration into searchable data repositories, a key differentiator between ZyLAB and other information retrieval alternatives. The design of our architecture gives ZyLAB a competitive advantage because:

  • An inefficient database architecture can slow down the retrieval process.
  • Not all fuzzy search algorithms are alike; many have slow response times and produce less-than-precise results.
  • Proprietary database architectures can keep companies locked into an approach that may not grow at the same rate or in a manner consistent with their information retrieval needs.
  • ZyLAB technology enables data storage in anything from a simple flat file system (CD-ROM, DVD, NTFS or a SAN) to an advanced third-party XML database such as Software AG’s Tamino or Oracle’s 9i XML storage.

ZyLAB’s unique, non-proprietary XML-based storage system is the most stable, secure, and flexible archiving solution on the market. All your information is securely stored in its original format, so you never have to worry about losing your information due to old file formats, and there’s no need for expensive databases or complex integrations.

ZyLAB’s solid foundation: a large XML data repository

The central element of the ZyLAB product suite is a large XML data repository, in which all unstructured data is stored. Integrated functionalities enable users to capture and add new data, analyze and collaborate on the data in the XML database, and retrieve and share this data. Because of its modular structure, ZyLAB software is completely scalable and therefore provides a solution for both small and medium sized businesses as well as large-scale production environments.

The ZyLAB data repository can be any storage system varying from a simple flat file system stored on a CD, DVD, NTFS or a SAN to an advanced third-party XML database such as Software AG’s Tamino or Oracle’s 9i XML storage.

Advanced Security Module

gives you document-level security options. You can define your own document groups based on the contents of your key fields and protect your documents from unauthorized access. You can also define your own users and import users and groups from the network security.
In addition, you can set security rights to a variety of functions such as building, deleting and creating indexes and editing, deleting and merging documents.
