International Tire Manufacturer Selects ZyLAB’s eDiscovery & Production System

Solution Supports In-House Legal Department by Maintaining Better Control of E-mail

London, UK - April 27, 2010 - ZyLAB, a leading provider of e-discovery and information management solutions, today announced that one of the world’s largest manufacturers of tires has selected the ZyLAB eDiscovery & Production system to support the in-house legal team. The system will provide the legal department professionals with an easy method to archive and search all e-mail for many of its ongoing litigations. With over 2,000 employees the manufacturer manages terabytes of e-mail, and prior to implementing the ZyLAB solution the process for gaining control or insight into this vast repository of information was cumbersome.

The manufacturer used a leading research firm’s “quadrant” to select highly-rated e-discovery vendors to consider. ZyLAB was ultimately selected based on the system’s ease of use to search and tag, along with its legal production capabilities such as redacting, TIFF printing and Bates stamping. The solution resides on a server at the client’s location where e-mails are downloaded from the company’s hosted Microsoft Exchange e-mail archive solution and converted to PST files. These PST files are then converted by ZyLAB’s tools and imported into the system, where they will be indexed and searchable by legal department users.

“The Assistant General Counsel expressed that the implementation of the ZyLAB system has gone smoother than they could have hoped and our team delivered exactly what we promised during the sales process,” said Johannes Scholtes, Chief Strategy Officer for ZyLAB. “Our e-discovery system is built to empower IT and legal departments to efficiently manage the most expensive and tedious elements of litigation in-house with automated tools. In this case, the customer needed to manage its vast repository of e-mails and we developed a solution tailored to meet their specific requirements.”

The ZyLAB eDiscovery and Production system addresses all key aspects of e-discovery, from information management to producing relevant data for opposing counsel as well as for use in litigation software. The system offers more advanced third-party product compatible features than any other e-discovery solution on the market today. It can be completely integrated with other litigation software and common repositories such as Microsoft SharePoint, databases, as well as ECM, CRM and ERP systems. The platform is built around an XML data repository and provides authorized reviewers with access via standard Internet browsers. This helps accelerate case analysis and document review, as well as enables discovery activities to be automatically performed in-house, thereby allowing customers to maintain control and minimize costs.
