Overview
Company Profile
ZyLAB’s industry-leading, modular eDiscovery and enterprise information management technology puts you in command of boundless enterprise data in order to mitigate risk, reduce costs, investigate matters and elicit business productivity and intelligence.
ZyLAB straddles the convergence of information management and eDiscovery to keep your content assets (and liabilities) in order and to cost-effectively mine them when an investigation ensues. The eDiscovery experience often triggers a broader information management initiative championed by executive leadership. While the ZyLAB eDiscovery & Production system is generally implemented to investigate a specific legal matter, it is a solid and robust foundation from which to pursue proactive, enterprise-wide objectives for information management. Those broader goals are achieved through the use of the ZyLAB Compliance & Litigation Readiness system.
ZyLAB is a dominant player in compliance and eDiscovery-related solutions, due in part to our advanced capabilities for multi language support, searching, content analytics, document reviewing, and e-mail and records management (for both scanned and electronic documents). Additionally, our eDiscovery system is directly aligned with the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) and features modules for forensic sound collection, culling, advanced e-mail conversion (Exchange and Lotus Notes) and legal review.
The company’s products and services are used on an enterprise level by corporations, government agencies, courts, and law firms, as well as on specific projects for legal services, auditing, and accounting providers. ZyLAB systems are also available in a Software-as-a-Services (SaaS) model.
Overall, we have sold an astounding 1.7 million user licenses through more than 9,000 installations. All of our solutions include full installation, project management and integration services.
ZyLAB has received numerous industry accolades and is one of the few companies to be positioned as a Leader in Gartner’s “Magic Quadrant for Information Access Technology” for 2007, 2008 and 2009. In addition, Gartner has given ZyLAB the highest rating (“Strong Positive”) in its “MarketScope for E-Discovery and Litigation Support Vendors” for 2007, 2008 and 2009, as well as a “Promising” rating in its 2008 “MarketScope for Records Management”.

Advanced search capabilities find more information, quicker
ZyLAB has its own unique search technology that has been developed in partnership with the most demanding organizations in support of many high-profile investigations. Unlike “popular” search engines such as Google, which is focused on finding only the “best” hits, ZyLAB’s focus has always been on finding all potentially relevant documents. For e-mail, electronic files and scanned documents, ZyLAB has the highest recall due to advanced search techniques such as fuzzy, quorum, proximity, complex Booleans, wildcards and many others, all of which are available without compromising our exceptional search speed. In addition, ZyLAB can find “hidden” components in complex document formats such as e-mail attachments, compressed files and intricate database structures. Even if you search for words not literally in the document, or ones that are hidden in file or document properties, ZyLAB can find the information with advanced concept search and text analytics technology. We also offer speaker identification and word spotting techniques for searching sound and video recordings. -
Multi-language capabilities enhance functionality for global organizations
ZyLAB’s extensive global client base requires ZyLAB to provide a true multi-language product, not just one that is simply UNICODE compliant. We offer product interfaces in twenty languages, including German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, Finnish, Polish, Arabic, Farsi, and Khmer. In addition to this, over 400 languages are supported by ZyLAB’s recognition and full-text indexing technology, including all Western-European, Eastern-European, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Farsi African, Asian and most regional indigenous languages. Automatic language recognition, along with voting between different OCR engines, simplifies the OCR process and yields optimal OCR results in multi-lingual environments. ZyLAB can full-text index any language that can be represented in UNICODE characters. -
Flexible XML-based platform allows for optimal scalability, stability and cost effectiveness
ZyLAB stores all information in an open and scalable XML format, which eliminates the need for expensive database licenses and allows fast full-text indexing and searching. However, if a particular client is already using an extensive array of databases, our solutions integrate easily with Oracle, mySQL or MS_SQL databases. This type of structure enables ZyLAB to support the management of extremely large datasets, with no need for database administrators or specialized backup, encryption or storage software.
ISO-9001 Quality Certificate, MOREQ-2 and DoD 5015.2 Compliant
ZyLAB is certified and registered as compliant with the International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001:2000. Earning ISO 9001:2000 certifications demonstrates that ZyLAB has sufficiently proven to the evaluating body that the company can produce and deliver in a consistent way products/services which meet the requirements and desires of the customer and the applicable legal regulations.
ISO 9001 is the most commonly used international standard that provides a framework for Quality Management Systems. The standard is used to assure that a product has been produced in the most efficient and effective manner possible; certifying that consistent business processes are being applied. Certification is granted to organizations that demonstrate their ability to consistently fulfill customers' quality requirements and applicable regulatory requirements.
ZyLAB also let Microsoft, Oracle and other infrastructure providers regularly certify critical components that work closely with their infrastructure.
